The field of the invention is that of spacer blocks, particularly for assembling and stabilising woodwork or the like in the masonry of a building. The aim of the invention is to obtain a blocking device which is versatile, modular and easy to use. This aim is achieved by means of a spacer block, consisting of a thin monobloc plate formed by a U-shaped body 1, the said body 1 being partially closed at its widened end 10 by a pair of symmetrical elastic lips 2 directed towards each other; the two opposite faces 3, 4 of the said plate having longitudinal serrations 5 for transversely immobilising the block by friction. The invention finds a preferred application for window frames. <IMAGE>
