PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a wire dot printer and to realize a high image quality, by correcting to lengthen the driving time of a print wire in a prestage and driving a print head, when the number of print wires to be driven in the post stage exceeds a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:When a signal for starting a print-operation is fed to CPU7, control data is obtained through a program in ROM8 while print data is received by RAM9 from an interface section, and when a line of data are accumulated, they are converted into a print operation signal. At the same time, existence of driving print wire in the post stage and the number of driving print wires are monitored by means of the converted print operation signal, and the driving print wires in the prestage and the post stage are controlled to be operated with normal driving time without correcting the print operation signal if the driving print wire does not exist in post stage but exists only in prestage, or if the number of print wires in the post stage is smaller than a predetermined number X. If the number of driving print wires in post stage is larger than X, said print operation signal is corrected so that the driving time of the print wire in the prestage is lengthened. |
