PURPOSE:To eliminate the precipitation of an iron powder or copper compound at reaction temp., by dissolving cuprous halide in aqueous ammonia containing halogen in an amount equimolar to the copper ion or more, formed in aqueous ammonia. CONSTITUTION:Cuprous halide and/or cuprous oxide is dissolved in aqueous ammonia containing halogen ions in an amount equimolar to the copper ion, or more formed in said aqueous ammonia. Or, cupric halide and/or cupric oxide is dissolved in the aforementioned aqueous ammonia containing the halogen ion is reduced to a cuprous ion using hydrazine or hydrazine hydrate to prepare a cuprous catalyst for continuous ammonolysis. |
