PURPOSE:To improve controllability and reproducibility by drawing an integrated multicore optical fiber which has plural cores and thus forming a mixing part. CONSTITUTION:The multicore optical fiber obtained by forming plural mutually parallel cores (p) in one body with a clad (q) is cut to specific length, the center part is heated and softened, and both ends are pulled to draw the center part. The multicore optical fiber manufactured as mentioned above decreases in the diameter of the core (p) inside and the intervals of the cores are reduced. Therefore, light guided in some core (p) leaks to other cores (p) at the center part and propagated uniformly to the cores (p), and uniform light is projected on respective cores on the other end of the star coupler. Consequently, the controllability and producibility are improved. |
