PURPOSE:To improve a transfer efficiency by providing an image data control mechanism to transfer image data not to exist at an image buffer toward a program out of the image data which the program on a host computer aims at. CONSTITUTION:An application program (APP)2 communicates names stuck to image data A3a and B3b stored into a magnetic disk 3 to an image printing device 4 together with a developing position. An image control mechanism 7 in the device 4 investigates by control information whether or not image data A and B exist at the designating position of an image buffer 5. When the data exist, they are used as it is and when the data do not exist, they are communicated to an APP2 of a host 1. The APP2 sends only necessary data from the disk 3 to a reading device 4, develops and stores them to the buffer 5 and the control mechanism 7 stores the name and the developing position as the control information. The device 4, when all image data A5a and B5b are arranged, prints them into a printing paper 6.
