An apparatus for liquid treatment of workpieces has a receiving frame (11) for the workpieces (10) which is attached to an endless drawing element, such as a chain, a cable or the like, which is guided in a running rail (15), which extends along a closed line, and is displaceably driven in the running rail direction. So that the liquid can drain off the workpieces more completely, an additional (lower) endless chain, an endless cable or the like is arranged below the running rail (15) in a lower running rail (17) so as to be displaceable along a closed line, to which lower running rail (17) the receiving frame (11) is likewise attached, the distance between corresponding points, one lying above the other, of the lower running rail (17) and the upper running rail (15) in part being variable in the direction of the running rail. <IMAGE>
