Reactor (10) comprises a closed vessel, pref. at superatmospheric pressure, for carrying out processing in the cellulose and/or paper pulp industry. The bottom region of the reactor vessel (10) houses a rotor (22) which both effects pulp particles size redn. and completes circulation of the vessel contents. Pref. the reactor vessel (10) is spherical, and has vertically-oriented V-section internal baffles (30), through which heating fluid is circulated. Pref. the rotor (22) has an axial inlet (28) and radial outlet (23) between fixed and rotary discs (23,24). |
