A device for obtaining samples of the constituents entrained in gas flows has an intake tube for a substream which is branched off from a gas flow. The intake tube opens via a nozzle into a Venturi section which is immersed, in turn, in a washing liquid. A two-phase flow emerging via the diffuser opening of the Venturi section and composed of washing liquid and gas rises in a bubble column around the Venturi section and the intake tube and is largely recirculated again into the high-velocity Venturi section. This results in a combined, very effective separation of small particles as a result of inertial forces and of gaseous constituents as a result of diffusion processes.
