PURPOSE:To secure the ignition faculty by securing the nonconduction time in preference in the region where an ignition signal interferes with the min. value of the nonconduction time and restricting the ignition timing obtained according to the operation state. CONSTITUTION:A nonconduction time judging means judges if the nonconduction time obtained from the conduction time and the ignition timing calculated by an ignition calculating means is shorter or not than the min. nonconduction time. When it is judged that the nonconduction time is shorter than the min. nonconduction time, an ignition cycle judging means judges if the sum of the conduction time and the min. nonconduction time is shorter or not than the ignition cycle. When it is judged that the above-described sum is shorter than the ignition cycle, an ignition advance control means restricts the change of the ignition timing to the advance side. When it is judged than the above- described sum is longer than the ignition cycle, a time distribution control means restricts the change of the ignition timing to the advance side and sets the ratio of the conduction time to the nonconduction time to a prescribed time distribution.
