PURPOSE:To maintain the low-noise property of the device without increasing further the fitting precision of each component, by making a supporting block hold a platen unit with a play and by providing a shock absorbing member in the part of play. CONSTITUTION:A platen holder 10 having a curved surface at the back retains a platen 11 fixedl and a pin 12 projected from the curved surface is put freely into a pin hole 14 bored in a supporting block 13 and supported by stoppers 15 at both ends thereof. A shock absorbing sheet 16 made of an elastic material such as synthetic rubber and elastic plastics is inserted between the back surface of the holder 10 and the supporting block and stuck to the supporting block 13, while a hole having the same diameter with that of the pin hole 14 is bored in the sheet at a position matched with the pin hole 14 of the platen supporting block 13. The stoppers 15 absorb a shock caused when a printing head 1 presses the platen 11 and the back surface of the holder 10 contacts closely with the shock absorbing sheet 16 with strong frictional force, and thus no clattering noise caused by the contact of the pin 12 with the pin hole 14 is generated. |
