PURPOSE:To automate preprocessing of paper adding work, in a rotary press, by sucking the tip portion of a web through a suction cup add fitting in a guide groove of a cutter holder then moving a pair of slide blocks and cutting the web obliquely thereafter applying adhesive. CONSTITUTION:Upon provision of a paper adding preparation command, a supporting frame 11 moves toward a new web L at a paper adding preparation position B, and stops when the tip of a cutter holder 22 approaches closely to a pair of slide blocks 18 positioned at a threaded rod 19 portion. At the same time, a predrive 40 comes in contact with the new web L so as to move the new web L with low speed, then a suction cup 21 sucks the tip portion thereof and retreats so that the tip faces with a guide groove of a cutter holder 22. Thereafter, the new web L is rotated with low speed with the slide blocks 18 being moved symmetrically by means of the threaded rod 19 and cut into a triangle, then applied with adhesive along a cutting line (a) by means of a coating device 23. Consequently, preparation processing for adding paper at the tip of the new web can be automated. |
