PURPOSE:To surely recognize cap set state with a simple mechanism to prevent blind exposure by generating an electric signal different between setting and non-setting of a lens cap by a sensor and cutting off the power of a partial circuit if the signal for wetting is generated. CONSTITUTION:If a lens cap 30 is set, a rib 32 intercepts transmission/reception light of a photointerrupter to generate the electric signal. This electric signal is sent from a lead wire 41 to the circuit in a camera body through a contact plate 42 and a connection terminal 43. When a power switch 45 is turned on, the signal from the connection terminal 43 acts upon a relay 48, but a current flows to a recording circuit 47 from a battery 46 if the lens cap 30 is not set. When the power switch 45 is turned off or the lens cap 30 is set, the current does not flow to the recording circuit 47 to inhibit recording and a lamp 'REC PAUSE' in a finder is not lit to inform a user that recording is impossible.
