PURPOSE:To perform the preparation of a rule mark with resulting superior operability, by inputting two points and a dividing number, and displaying a quadrangle defined by one point at every inputting of the point as inputting the point, and the rule mark drawn in the quadrangle. CONSTITUTION:Assuming a space as an xy plane, and setting an (x) coordinate in a horizontal direction, and a (y) coordinate in a vertical direction, an operator inputs the coordinate values of two points P1 and P2 to a computer. Furthermore, the quadrangle T is defined by inputting the coordinate value of a point P3. The computer defines the quadrangle T by calculating the coordinate values of points P4 and P5 based on each of the coordinate values of three points P1, P2, and P3. Afterwards, the operator inputs the dividing number (n). Next, the coordinate value of a point Q is inputted. A quadrangle S consisting of four points P1, P2, Q1, and Q2 is defined based on three points P1, P2, and the Q, and furthermore, the (n-1)-lines of rule marks can be stipulated. By changing the position of the point Q and furthermore fixing it, it is possible to prepare the rule mark having a desired interval.
