PURPOSE:To produce exterior parts for timepieces having excellent corrosion resistance, adhesiveness and wear resistance by successively laminating a gold alloy layer and grayish black Cr hard coating layer on the surface of metallic parts and stripping part of the upper layer, thereby forming a two-color layer. CONSTITUTION:A watch case 1 consisting of a stainless steel material is electroplated and a plating layer 2 of gold or gold alloy (Au-Ni-In, etc.) having about 3-5mu thickness is formed by electroplating. The grayish black hard coating layer of Cr or Ti having about 1-2mu thickness is then laminated and formed thereon. An org. resist 4 is masked on part of the hard coating layer 3 and the hard coating layer 3 except the masked part is stripped and thereafter, the resist 4 is removed. The watch case having a combination of the golden and grayish black colors and high ornamental value is thereby obtd.
