METHOD FOR FORMING THIN STRIP MATERIAL TO WIRE ROD

PURPOSE:To form the front end or middle part of a thin strip material to a wire rod with one stage by subjecting the thin strip material to pressing by means of a die having a groove of a prescribed width deeper than the width of said material and a punch corresponding to the die groove. CONSTITUTION:The rectangular strip-shaped thin strip material 1 made of metal is held horizontally laid in the groove 3 of the die 2 and the punch 4 is lowered to compress said material by which the wire rod part 1' having a circular section is formed to the front end or middle part of the material 1. The formation of the wire rod part 1'' having a square section is also possible by forming the groove 3 base of the die 2 and the base of the punch 4 to a flat shape.
