Device ensuring heat exchange between the combustion of the wood of an open-fire fireplace and the air circulating in a heat recuperator for open-fire fireplaces. The invention relates to a device which can be installed on any air-circulating recuperator made in the form of a one-piece non-tubular box member. The system can be entirely dismantled and is equipped with smoke-tight expansion joints. With this system, the flow rates of hot air are very great and at high temperature. The invention relates to a system consisting of a steel frame 1, a support angle section 2, a central stiffener 3 and supports 5 which fit over tabs (spigots) 4 and receive conducting elements 6. The assembly thus fitted together is topped off by expansion cover-plates 7 and held in place by locking elements 8 fixed at each corner by bolts 9. The device according to the invention is made for equipping new or existing air-type heat recuperators. <IMAGE>
