PRODUCTION OF N-ALKYLALKYLENEDIAMINE

PURPOSE:To obtain an N-alkylalkylenediamine by the use of an inexpensive and readily handleable solvent and in high yield, by reacting an alkyleneimine and a monoalkyleneamine in a specific molar ratio in the presence of an acid catalyst in a water solvent. CONSTITUTION:An alkyleneimine shown by the formula (R1 is H or CH3) is reacted with a monoalkyleneamine shown by the formula R2NH2 (R2 is 1-2C alkyl) in a closed system in the presence of an acid catalyst (e.g. hydrochloric acid) in a water solvent at 80-160 deg.C at 1-20kg/cm<2>G to give the aimed substance. The reaction is carried out by using 1-10mol, preferably 1.5-8mol monoalkyleneamine based on 1mol alkyleneimine, 0.5-6mol% catalyst based on the alkyleneimine and 10-80wt% solvent based on the sum.
