The invention relates to a supporting frame for double seats which is supported, for example on a wall and/or the floor, possibly has foot rests and bears the aisle-side seat of the double seat in a laterally displaceable fashion. The main objective of this invention is to ensure that a sufficient amount of free foot space remains despite the presence of foot rests. This is achieved in that the supporting frame is constructed as a mounting plate (4) which is preferably constructed from sheet metal and is bevelled in an upwardly rounded fashion at least on the side which extends transversely towards the rear with respect to the direction of travel but preferably at the rear and front sides, and bears (cf 12, 13) behind these bevelled portions (10, 11) the displacement rails (23, 24) for the aisle-side seat (2). <IMAGE>
