A device for measuring electromagnetic radiation, especially solar irradiation (insulation) in the passenger compartments of motor vehicles, having at least one photoelectric receiver in the form of a cell, is to be simple in its construction and to enable the measurement and transmission of conditions occasioned by solar irradiation. For this purpose, a measuring head (30) is equipped with a plurality of cells (Z1 to Z8) arranged approximately in a ring shape and on the outer surface of the ring contour, as well as with at least one zenith cell (Z9) extending orthogonally to these cells, the cells being electrically connected to an evaluation electronic unit (E), which determines the azimuth angle and the elevation angle of the irradiation. <IMAGE>
