The invention relates to a curable resin composition comprising a polymerisable vinyl compound (A), a polyvinyl alcohol resin (B) having a degree of saponification (hydrolysis) of from 65 to 90 mol% and a degree of polymerisation of from 50 to 2000, a polyvinyl alcohol resin (C) having a degree of saponification of less than 65 mol% and a degree of polymerisation of not more than 2000, and a polymerisation initiator (D); the composition can be used for paints, adhesives, mould materials, printing plate materials and the like.
