Intermittent conveying apparatus for rectilinear conveying of articles, comprising two lateral rail profiles (2) whose upper surfaces (32) form a plane support surface for the articles (33) to be conveyed, a carriage (3) which is guided movably with wheels in the track profiles (2), a pivoting lever mechanism which can pivot about axles (9) of the wheels and has levers (15) whose upper lever sections, facing the upper surfaces (32) of the rail profiles (2), are fastened in an articulated manner to a supporting frame (16) of the carriage, said supporting frame being arranged between the rail profiles (2), and a piston-cylinder unit (23) which is supported at one end on the rail profiles (2) and is connected at the other end to the lower sections, which face away from the rail profiles (2), of the levers (15). The intermittent conveying apparatus according to the invention first of all lifts, with the supporting frame (16), the article (33) standing on the rail profiles (2) by pivoting the lever (15) and subsequently displaces the carriage with the article (33) in the transport direction (40). The article is subsequently set down again by pivoting the lever (15) back, and the supporting frame is again moved back below the article. By repeating this operation, the article is transported onwards in a stepwise manner. <IMAGE>
