PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of a spectrum which gives a selenium photosensitive body optical fatigue and to form a stable copy image by providing the fluorescent tube of an electrostatic discharging light source with a means which heats a tube film and maintains its temperature automatically or manually. CONSTITUTION:A thermoelectric film 3 made of a resistance material such as Ni-Cr alloy is pattern-printed on the tube wall of the fluorescent tube 1 for a light source for discharging the surface of a photosensitive body electrostatically without any disturbance to a light emission area in an irradiation direction 2, and a current corresponding to initial tube wall temperature is supplied automatically or manually for a prescribed time to raise and hold the temperature of the tube wall above 15 deg.C. Further, remaining heat from a heater for fixation is blown to the fluorescent tube by utilizing a flow of air in addition to the direct temperature raising and holding by the thermoelectric film, thereby performing indirect the temperature rise and insulation. This method requires no additional energy, but a distribution mechanism for air needs to be provided. |
