PURPOSE:To enhance efficiency of electric charge injection to a charge transfer layer, and sensitivity, and to reduce residual potential by substituting halogen for a part of the hydrogen atoms of amorphous carbon layer constituting the charge transfer layer. CONSTITUTION:The charge transfer layer 2 composed essentially of amorphous carbon substituted by halogen for a part of the hydrogen atoms of it, and a photoconductive layer 3 to be allowed to generate carriers by light excitation are laminated on a substrate 1. It is preferred to control the halogen content of the layer 2 to 0.01-40atom%, and the optical forbidden band gap to <=2.3eV, especially, <=2.1eV, thus permitting the efficiency of charge injection to the layer 2, and the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity and low in residual potential. |
