PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent color signal by providing a correction means correcting a signal level difference between channels of a dual channel type color image sensor to the pre-stage of a demultiplier means so as to eliminate the difference from the levels between even and odd number picture element signals due to the bias potential difference between the shift registers for even/odd number picture elements. CONSTITUTION:After an output signal of a color CCD image sensor 41 is amplified to a prescribed level by a preamplifier 42, the result is subject to sample and hold by S/H circuits 43a, 43b, and an odd number picture element signal is outputted from the S/H circuit 43a and an even number picture element signal is outputted from the S/H circuit 43b respectively separately. Then each signal is inputted respectively to respective clamp amplifiers 44a, 44b. The odd number picture element signal and the even number picture element signal are clamped by the clamp amplifiers 44a, 44b to the same reference level, and after the DC offset level difference between both the odd/even picture element signals depending on the output of the S/H circuits 43a, 43b is eliminated, the result is multiplexed again into a one line serial picture signal by a multiplexer 45. Then the result is separated into R, G, B color signals sample-and-hold circuits 46a-46c.
