PURPOSE:To transmit rotation reliably, by employing a toothed V-belt and providing a gear engagable with the V-belt in the bottom of a V-groove of at least one variable pitch pulley. CONSTITUTION:A V-belt 42 is entrained over pulleys 14, 24 of drive shaft 2 and driven shaft 4. The V-belt 42 is provided with teeth 38 engagable with the gear 36 of a variable flange 24b. A gear 36 is provided at a portion where the variable flange 24b constituting the pulley 24 at the driven side forms the bottom of V groove. Consequently, the gear at the bottom of the pulley groove engages with the teeth of the toothed V-belt, thus enabling reliable transmission of rotary force even if frictional force between the sideface of pulley and the V-belt is low. |
