PURPOSE:To make a speed change device compact, by providing a driven gear associated with a key groove to be fitted idly to a driven shaft in parallel with a drive shift and stopping a spring member to a clutch member in the key groove. CONSTITUTION:Driven gears 7a-7c associated with key grooves to be fitted idly to a driven shaft 5 are provided under the condition where they are geared with drive gears 3a-3c. A clutch member 11 is provided in a key groove 6 of the driven shaft 5, and a spring member 12 having a projection 12a to be fitted in the key groove of the driven gear is inserted along the key groove 6 at the tip side. Since the spring member 12 of the clutch mechanism can be elongated by the axial width of the clutch member 11 when compared with a conventional one, the entire structure can be made compact.
