Procédé de préparation d'un catalyseur renfermant du rhénium. Le procédé comporte trois étapes : imprégnation à sec d'un support poreux renfermant de l'alumine, à une température inférieure à 80°C pendant au moins dix heures, premier traitement thermique entre 85 et 250°C et second traitement thermique entre 400 et 1000°C. Utilisation du catalyseur obtenu pour la production d'oléfines par métathèse d'autres oléfines.
