PURPOSE:To improve resistance to oxidation and thermal cracking and to improve castability and machinability by specifying the contents of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr, and Al in a heat resisting cast steel and subjecting the steel to an annealing treatment. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. of the heat resisting steel is specified, by weight, to 0.3-1.5% C, 1.5-3.0% Si, <=1.0% Mn, <=0.05% P, <=0.1% S, 5.0-13.0% Cr, 0.04-0.2% Al, and the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities. After the steel having such compsn. is cast, the steel is subjected to the annealing treatment. The steel dispersed with granular carbide inn the ferrite base is obtd. by such treatment, by which the machinability is further improved from the as-cast state. this heat resisting cast steel is adequately usable for the exhaust system parts of vehicle engines, etc.
