NEW MATERIAL:An unsaturated inosose derivative expressed by formula I (R<1> is a protecting group of OH). EXAMPLE:4L-4,6/5-Tri(benzyloxy)-3-(benzyloxymethyl)-2-cyclohexenone. USE:A medicine. A producing raw material of valienamine, valiolamine and N-substituted derivative thereof useful as a preventive and remedy for diabetes, obesity, hyperlipenia, etc. PREPARATION:Phosphonate carboanion obtained by treating a compound expressed by formula III with a base is reacted with a compound expressed by formula IV to provide a compound expressed by formula V (R<2> is hydrocarbon residue), which is reduced and then oxidized to give a novel phosphoryl- diketose derivative expressed by formula II, which is treated with a base such as K2CO3, etc., in an organic solvent, preferably in the presence of crown ether at 10 deg.C- boiling point of the solvent for 1-18hr in order to carry out intramolecular ring-closing reaction to afford a compound expressed by formula I.
