PURPOSE:To obtain the titled apparatus having long service life of the furnace center tube material because of making it possible to prevent consumption of the furnace center tube material and capable of providing a carbon fiber having improved quality, by constituting the apparatus so as to cool a sealing liquid in liquid seal part provided at the opening part for taking out a fiber filament in lower part of the furnace. CONSTITUTION:A liquid seal part 3 is provided at the opening for taking out a fiber filament in the lower part of a furnace in a heat-treating apparatus for continuously treating the fiber filament and the apparatus is constituted so as to cool a sealing liquid 4 in said liquid seal part. Water, cooled at <=25 deg.C is preferably used as the sealing liquid.
