PURPOSE:To efficiently carry out dehydration by firstly dehydrating cement mud by a filter press, secondly dehydrating the mud by a compression and pressure dehydrator, and carrying out the clamping of filter plates and compression with one oil hydraulic pump. CONSTITUTION:Sludge water is dehydrated by the primary dehydrator 1 with internal pressure treatment, and separated into filtered water and cake 7. The filter plates are opened, the cake 7 is moved into the respective dehydration chambers in the secondary dehydrator 2 provided below the dehydrator 1, the oil hydraulic pump 5 which has been used for the clamping of the filter plates in the primary dehydrator 1 is also used as the compressing power for the secondary dehydrator 2, the oil pressure is controlled to a specified value, and many filter plates 3' are simultaneously pressed by the movable plate 4' provided to an oil hydraulic cylinder 8'. The primary dehydrator during the secondary dehydration continues dehydration, and the two stages of dehydration can be simultaneously carried out.
