PURPOSE:To enhance abrasion resistance, by a method wherein a metal suitable for a wire guide member is selected and perforation processing is applied to said metal and, subsequently, hardening treatment and chemical treatment are successively applied thereto to make the contact surface thereof with a wire smooth. CONSTITUTION:A metal (SC material, SUS material, BeCu material) being a raw material is subjected to press punching so as to have an outer shape to form a part 1. The pat 1 is perforated by maching using a knife tool or discharge processing to form a part 1A which is, in turn, subjected to a hardening treatment such as heat treatment. The part 1A after hardening treatment is immersed in a polishing liquid (a solutioni prepaed by adding hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, caustic potash, nitric acid or fluoric acid to distilled water) for a definite time to finish a smooth surface such that the roughness of the inner surface of each guide hole being the contact surface with a wire is 1mum or less. By mounting the metal guide thus manufactured to the noise leading end part of a wire type dot head, the abrasion of the wire and the contact surface of the metal guide with the wire are markedly reduced and stable operation can beperformed. |
