PURPOSE:To obtain a reactive photopolymerization initiator suitable as a constituent of a resin composition as a coating agent for optical transmission optical glass fibers of a high gel fraction, comprising a reaction product of a photopolymerization initiator having a hydroxyl group in the molecule with an epoxy ester compound of a specified (meth)acrylic acid. CONSTITUTION:This reactive photopolymerization initiator is a reaction product of a photopolymerization initiator [A] having a hydroxyl group in the molecule with a compound [B] represented by formula I (wherein R1 is H or CH3 and a and b are each an integer of 5-10) and/or a compound [B] represented by formula II (wherein R2 is H or CH3). The ratio between said reactants is preferably such that 1.0-1.5 epoxy equivalent of component B is present per hydroxyl equivalent of component A. As component A, 1-hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone, 2-hydroxy-2-methyl-1-phenylpropan-1-one or the like is particularly preferable.
