PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. having excellent moldability, resistance to heat and impact and platability, consisting of a polyphenylene ether resin, an arom. vinyl resin and a specified graft copolymer. CONSTITUTION:10-45% (by weight; the same applies hereinbelow) vinyl cyanide monomer (e.g., acrylonitrile), 30-90% arom. vinyl monomer (e.g., styrene) and 0-50% other copolymerizable vinyl monomer (e.g., methyl methacrylate) are graft-polymerized in the presence of a butadiene rubber polymer to give a graft copolymer (C) wherein the amount of resin component which is not grafted onto the rubber polymer accounts for not more than 20% of the total amount of the polymer. 10-80pts.wt. polyphenylene ether resin (A) having a reduced viscosity of 0.3-0.7dl/g, composed of a repeating unit of the formula (wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each H, an alkyl, halogen, nitro or amino; a is 30 or greater) is blended with 15-85pts.wt. arom. vinyl resin (B) (e.g., high impact- resistant styrene resin) and 5-50pts.wt. component C in such a proportion that the combined amount is 100pts.wt.
