The device is noteworthy in that it comprises a shaped core 1 of any desired dimensions and shapes made from a flexible and deformable material such as an elastomer, arranged and internally including, embedded during moulding, a non-deformable member 2 constituting at least one base plane or reference surface, and not adhering to the said core, the said member being secured to a duct 3 for the intake of a pressurised fluid and at least one free space being made on the member-duct assembly to allow the circulation of a fluid and give rise to the temporary or continuous deformation, or to a deformation whose intensity can be adjusted, of all or part of the zones of the core which are in question under the effect of pressure, with the purpose of exercising clamping and/or sealing functions on the body or bodies, component or components, assembly or assemblies, or sub-assembly or sub-assemblies to which either one or a number of the devices is applied. <IMAGE>
