The present invention relates to a device making it possible to fasten scaffolding to a ladder, of the roof or ordinary type. The devices according to the invention consist of the following main parts : a device A formed by two crossmembers 1 and 1' which are fastened to the rungs, and on the other side, by two feet 2 and 3 sliding one inside the other. They are held in a fixed position by threaded rods 11 provided with a knob thus enabling the level to be adjusted accurately, and then a platform acting as footboard. In the platform A at 6, holes are provided so as to receive one or more small posts C which support either the tube D or the chain E acting as a guard rail. If, according to the invention, two of these devices A and A' are fastened to two or more ladders separated by only a few metres, 2 or 3, and these ladders are connected together by crossed ties, this makes it possible to fit one or two devices B crosswise. These devices B consist of two metal uprights 17 having, at their ends, sockets 19 forming pivots which enable them to be fitted to the device A of the invention. They are held apart by spacers 18. There is a board 16 at its upper part. In the devices A at 6 and device B at 20, holes are provided to receive the small posts C intended to support the tube D or the chain E acting as guard rails. <IMAGE>
