The joint secures two or more main roof trusses to horizontal purlins having supporting hooks at the ends engaging in lugs on the trusses and prevented from working free by locking devices, being particularly for tent frames. The purlin (1) has at the ends transverse protruding stirrup joints (1,4) with hinging locking stirrups (1.3). The end of the latter furthest from the truss (2) is heavier than that (1.31) towards the lug (2.1) and is so bent that in the locked position the latter end is parallel to the hook (1.1), while the portion next to it bears against the inner edge of the lug (2.1), the angle included by them being thus 90 deg. or more. Between this portion and the one (1.33) leading to the hinge joint the angle is greater still. The heavier end (1.34) of the stirrup is bent downwards form the purlin, its tip forming a stop (1.5) for a purlin lifting fork. |
