PURPOSE:To record a picture with a specific color irrespective of a color on a sheet screen by reading picture information on the sheet screen, designating an area having the picture information desired to record a the picture with a prescribed color and writing it as a recording signal of the specific color. CONSTITUTION:In the reading of the picture information on the sheet screen, only black color picture information is read by a red filter 16A, a lens 16B and an image sensor 16C and read and black picture information is respectively read by a cyanogen filter 18A, a lens 18B and an image sensor 18C. An edge erasing processing and an S/P conversion are carried out through inversion amplifiers 20A, 20B, emitter followers 22A, 22B, a color recognition circuit 24 and a color synthesizing and erasing circuit 26 to store the picture information in a data memory 30. The area address of a designated area is stored in the memory 30, sent to a thermal head 32 as a recording symbol and the red picture information is transferred as red data for recording a red picture and the black picture information is transferred as the recording symbol for recording the red picture. Thereby, the picture information in the designated area is recorded in the red color.
