PURPOSE:To simplify a circuit constitution, and to facilitate an adjustment by adjusting the gain of an equalizing circuit part by adjusting the coefficient of a center, adjusting the width of an input pulse by the sum of first and third coefficients, and adjusting the symmetric property of the input pulse by the difference of the first and the third coefficients. CONSTITUTION:A coefficient setting circuit 9 is provided with a subtracter 10, an adder 11, and multipliers 12, 13, and in this state, with respect to coefficient setting signals A, B and C from the outside, such an arithmetic operation is executed so as to be K1=C(A+B), K2=C and K3=C(A-B) and obtained K1-K3 are given as coefficients to a transversal filter part. When A is adjusted, K1 and K3 increase/decrease in the same direction, and when B is adjusted, K1 and K3 increase/decrease in the reverse direction, and accordingly, by varying A, pulse width of an output pulse can be adjusted, and by varying B, the symmetric property of the output pulse can be adjusted, and also, by varying C, and varying simultaneously K1-K3, the gain of an equalizing circuit part can be controlled. In such a way, a waveform equalizing circuit which can be adjusted easily can be obtained by a simple constitution.
