<p>A charge transfer device having one or more control electrodes connected to switching means so that the electrode can perform two functions. Normally the electrode is used for charge transfer but it may be switched to act as a blocking electrode for blocking the charge present underneath it for one or more clock phases. This permits the device to be formed as a filter, an analog-to-digital converter or digital-to-analog converter in a simple and inexpensive manner. The charge transfer channel may be split into sections using isolation diffusions.</p> |
