PURPOSE:To detect errors and to avoid the faults of a control system itself by collating the sum of length of the fields set to queues with that of those fields actually processed. CONSTITUTION:The record is sent to a data buffer 2 from a memory via a data line 1 and the output of the buffer 2 is connected to a queue generating part 3. then a field to be retrieved and a retrieving constant are set to queues 4 and 5 respectively. These set values are supplied to a comparison retrieving part 6 and the comparison retrieving result is outputted to a control part 7 via a signal line 20. Thus the part 7 decides whether the corresponding logical record is coincident with the prescribed retrieving conditions or not and reflects the result of this decision onto a data buffer 8. Then the part 6 fetches a first bytes from both queues 4 and 5 respectively and sets them to counters 9 and 10. The part 6 also fetches a second bytes from both queues 4 and 5 and refers to the value of these bytes to recognize the field to be fetched as well as the constant length.
