PURPOSE:To obtain high and stable performance without occurring air block due to dew condensed water even in the small flow rate of air by interposing three-dimensionally composed hydrophilic fiber molds between air poles and separators. CONSTITUTION:Fiber molds 5 for absorbing dew condensed water are interposed into air flowing grooves 41. The dew condensed water absorbed into these fiber molds 5 is collected along an air outlet manifold 8 and the dew condensed (generated) water collected is used again for the promotion of reaction and for cooling. It is desirable at least that the fiber molds 5 are made of a hydrophilic material which can endure electrolytic solution exhausted at a temperature of a cell operation and in a misty state. This material easily available is usually phenol cloth fabric or the like in an organic fiber group, and it is a glass fiber sheet, SiC cloth fabric, a carbon fiber sheet, or the like in an inorganic fiber group. When locally condensed water is absorbed and exhausted moreover, string or thread made of these fiber materials is allowed to be used. |
