PURPOSE:To manufacture a weather strip having a stabilized form, by providing a sizing mechanism supporting an external form of a sealing part of a weather strip directly after an extrusion head. CONSTITUTION:A mixed compound 12 is supplied to an extruding machine 13 and extrusion molding of a weather strip 5 in a predetermined form is performed by the extruding machine 13. Although green strength of the weather strip 5 is extremely low and an odd-shaped seal part 6 is apt to hang down by leaning to one side through its dead weight, its external form part is supported by a roller 2 of a sizing mechanism 1 and the hanging is controlled. Then an outer ring 2a is turned through friction force between the weather strip 5 and the outer ring 2a of a roller 2 according to the extrusion and movement of the weather strip 5. The sizing mechanism 1 is supporting an external form of the seal part 6 and the inside in anticipation of dimensional deformation of the weather strip 5 to which the weather strip 5 is subjected in the course that it is vulcanized in a vulcanizing tank 14. Therefore, when the weather strip is vulcanized, a predetermined external form is secured. |
