PURPOSE:To obtain a dry cholesterol-analyzing element contg. a cholesterol ester-hydrolyzing enzyme in its porous liquid-developing layer and also a specific reagent in the porous layer or its water-permeating layer and having a high colorimetric analysis sensitivity to total cholesterols. CONSTITUTION:A dry cholesterol-analyzing element has a porous liquid- developing layer and at least one water-permeating layer in a state contactable with the liquid where the porous liquid-developing layer contains a cholesterol ester-hydrolyzing enzyme and also where the porous liquid-developing layer or at least one water-permeating layer contains an alkylphenoxypolyglycidol.
