PURPOSE:To enable easy replacement of a type wheel, by providing on a mount base for a type selection motor, a type wheel presser for pressing the type wheel positioned at a position suitable for printing, from the side opposite to a motor shaft of the type selection motor, in conjunction with an operation of a driving means for the mount base. CONSTITUTION:When a driving motor 9 is rotated clockwise, a type wheel 4 is vertically shifted together with a vertically movable member 22 through the functions of a pair of shift arms 12, 12' and a pair of engaging bodies 21, 21'. After the type wheel 4 is thus shifted, a motor mount base 13 is moved in the direction of a platen by a cam of a cam gear 11 through a support plates 16, 16' and a connecting rod 15. This movement is accompanied by the insertion of a motor shaft 23 into a shaft hole in the type wheel 4, and a wheel presser 18 having bee restrained by a pin 19 is made to be freely rotatable. The wheel presser 18 is energized by a leaf spring 20 to press a ball-shaped part 4' of the type wheel, thereby mounting the type wheel onto the motor shaft 23. Thus, it is possible to completely eliminate elastic resistances at the time of mounting and detaching the type wheel from the motor shaft. |
