PURPOSE:To enable the firm bonding readily, accurately and rapidly by forming the connecting sleeve provided with lens part and colored part to part of a cylindrical body whose inside can be seen through. CONSTITUTION:A heat-shrinkable (or thermally expandable) cylindrical body 1 composed of transparent (or semitransparent) synthetic resins or the like is formed with convex-flight-form lense parts 2a, 2b in the outside circumferential length direction of its top and bottom parts. In the central part thereof are pierced injection holes 4a, 4b which communicate with the axial hole 3 of the cylindrical body 1. Further a colored part 5 which is made in a color differing from that of optical fiber end is provided to the entire circumference in the lower part of the cylindrical body 1. Lead-in holes 7a, 7b and the insertion holes 8a, 8b of the clad part are provided to the terminal jigs 6A, 6B at the both ends of the cylindrical body. By heating the cylindrical body 1 and inserting optical fibers into the holes 8a, 8b, the easy, rapid and sure axial alignment may be accomplished firmly, and this work may be done while accurately gripping the terminals of the optical fibers with the lenses 2a, 2b and colored part 5. |
