PURPOSE:To numerically grasp an optical fiber adjusting state and to obtain proper aligning state by forming an index part on a alignment operating mechanism and forming an index penetrating part and an index reading part on an index reading display plate adjacently to each other. CONSTITUTION:When guide parts 15A, 15B of respective aligning bases 11A, 11B are elastically deformed through respective alignment operating mechanisms 41A, 41B corresponding to the guide parts 15A, 15B, the centers of the long grooves 14A, 14B of respective guide parts 15A, 15B are slightly deformed along segments AL1, BL1 which intersect with each other at right angles. When optical fiber end parts 2A, 2B are set and held with/in the long grooves 14A, 14B of respective guide parts 15A, 15B and slightly moved along the segments AL1, BL1 through the mechanisms 41A, 41B, alignment for making the cores of both optical fibers coincide with each other can be executed. Since the index parts 43A, 43B can be seen through the penetrating parts 52A, 52B and their moving distances can be read out by index reading parts 53A, 53B, the adjusting states of the guide parts 15A, 15B can be grasped. |
