PURPOSE:To enhance feeding stability and image quality, by providing a coloring material layer comprising at least a sublimable dye on a thin base on which particles having a lubricating or heat-releasable property are fixed, and protruding the particles from a standard surface of the coloring material layer. CONSTITUTION:Particles 5 having a lubricating or heat-releasable property are fixed on a base 1 by a heat-resistant binder layer 6. A coloring material layer 3 is provided as a second layer, with the particles 5 protruding from a standard surface 4 of the coloring material layer. At the time of recording, the particles 5 slide in contact with the surface of a dyeable layer of an image- receiving material, and a sublimable dye is transferred from the coloring material layer 3 to the dyeable layer, thereby forming an image. Since the particles 5 are fixed by the binder layer 6, they will not be moved by a frictional force acting between the particles and the dyeable layer. When the dye is used in an amount of at least 40 wt.% based on the solid components in the coloring material layer, the heat resistance of the coloring material layer is effectively lowered. |
