<p>The appliance has a metal body which is provided with a handle (18) and has a sliding sole (12) for uniformly applying wax to the ski running surface and also a wax feeding surface (14), which is preferably bevelled off. The appliance may be externally heatable or be provided with a built-in electric heating device (28). The sloping wax feeding surface (14) serves as a uniform wax distributor, on which the heated wax flows off uniformly to the sliding sole.
