PURPOSE:To prevent the development of cavity in inner part of a cast slab and to obtain a thick plate by executing the rolling reduction force of rollers at the finishing solidified part of molten metal by the specific squeeze to the interval of the rollers under consideration of the static pressure of molten metal and the shrinkage caused by the solidification of molten metal. CONSTITUTION:In the downstream side of a mold 2, many rollers 10a,..., 10b,..., holding to carry by drawing the cast slab 8 from the bottom of mold 2 are arranged. And, the rollers 10b,..., positioning to the finishing solidified part 12 of molten metal in the cast slab 8 are smaller diameter and narrower roller pitch in compared with the rollers 10a,..., of the other part. Further, the rolling reduction force of the rollers 10b,... are arranged, so as to execute the squeeze at 0.5-1.5mm/m to the interval of rollers under consideration of the static pressure of molten metal and the shrinkage caused by the solidification of molten metal. In this way, the development of cavity in the inner part of cast slab 8 is prevented at the finishing solidified part 12.
